Raw Red Bell Peppers make me sick..

Raw Red Bell Peppers piss me off.. especially if they're not roasted before trying to incorporate them into a legitimate food-stuff.

For example, lunch at Jimmy's Steer House was destroyed by these little f*ckers.. When the hell did people start adding chopped red bell peppers to Baked Stuffed Schrod?!  It's offensive. I mean, it seems like these days raw red bell peppers are sneaking it into food recipes as a filler, or a last ditch attempt to flavor food. Sorry Jimmy, but that's pretty amateur.. The raw acid infected all of the buttery-bread-crumby-goodness that could have been had and on top of that you're insulting a billion years of Italian culinary expertise!

What ever happened to Roasted Red Peppers?

Waking up at 11:30am for Sunday Dinner with Nana & Papa once a week was special, but it was even more incredible when I awoke to the sweet fiery scent of roasted red peppers.. Roasting slowly pulls out all of the acids that make your tummy go "Oof" and bring out the reason why you left that little guy hanging on its plant to ripen for a little while longer in the first place.. Add these bastids to salads, sandwiches, sauce, tapenade, hummus, salsa.. whatever! ..but please roast them first if you want to see your guests reaching for another glass of wine, rather than the pepto..

Raw Red Bell Pepper consider yourself Roasted!

  1. Just like with the peanut butter, if you don't want red peppers, you can give them to me. Raw, roasted, I love them all. Come to mama.
