Nomsense Candy (by Kosta)
Nomsense is run by Holly Collins, who has been experimenting with new and creative recipes over the last couple years. The name Nomsense means: A food or meal consisting of random kitchen items that accidentally is delicious.
I got to try one of her candy experiments. They were made from orange and grapefruit peels, and were encrusted in sugar. The citrusy flavors were sweet and tart. The peel’s bitterness was offset by the sugar making a nice contrast, and they had a satisfying crunch.
Her other offering was a light honey syrup. Often these syrups are sugar based, and I really enjoyed a honeyed version. This could be used in a variety of ways; the couple that spring to mind are drizzling it over a dessert or mixing it into your favorite cocktail.
I quite enjoyed sampling these and I look forward to trying more of Holly’s concoctions.
