Food on the Road - Tour Day 1

Hi all,

My name is Chestnut, and I play drums for The Swaggerin' Growlers, a punk/folk band based in Boston. I am also a foodie! I love all things eating. We have started touring full time, which tends to lend itself towards some interesting food events, so I was asked if I would provide some insight into the the ups and downs of food on the road. I will endeavor to do just that.

The day of our tour kickoff started out with a homemade food goodie. I went to my friend Jeska’s house to hang out and play video games while killing time until our show that night. She asked me if I would like to try a sweet she made, to which I replied, “of course!” She brought in this little owl, made of white chocolate and food coloring.

This was her first foray into working with chocolate molds. She received a couple of them as Christmas presents. I have to say, she has beginner’s luck. The owl was tasty and had a good texture.
More to come!
